Quality of Life and Diabetes Mellitus

ABSTRACT
There is increasing recognition that the impact of chronic illnesses like diabetes mellitus (DM) and their treatments must be evaluated in terms of their influences on Quality Of Life (QOL) in addition to more traditional measures of medical outcome. Health related QOL of patients with diabetes is affected by the disease itself, associated complications and also the management of the disease. Well-being of diabetic patients is öne of the recommendations of the St. Vincent Declaration. In this article QOL in general and related to DM is reviewed.
